Gilbert and Sullivan's much-loved comic opera The Mikado, or The Town of Titipu, tells the story of Nanki-poo, son of the Mikado of Japan, who flees his father's imperial court to avoid marrying a much older suitor and to search for his true love Yum-Yum. But Yum-Yum is betrothed to Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner, against her will. How will this tangled web of love be sorted out before anyone loses their head?
